This area stretches from the Southern Ice Field to the Isla Navarino. Full of  fjords, glaciers, lakes, rivers and the famous Torres del Paine, one of the most impressive mountain areas on Earth,  is the perfect area for climbing, hiking, boat trips and the southernmost crossings to Argentina.

South Patagonia was originally inhabited by four indigenous groups all of whom followed nomadic lifestyle: Tehuelches, Onas, Alacalufes and Yaganes.

During the 19th Century, the first European pioneers arrived here,  benefitted by the Chilean goverment´s distribution of lands in Punta Arenas and surrounding areas.
