Petrohue Falls

This picturesque region of Chile  known as the Lake District is filled with huge snow covered peaks and clear blue lakes, fishing ports and quaint little villages steeped in rural traditions. The landscape was created by violent natural forces, as earth quakes, volcanic explosions and melting icebergs from millions of year ago, gave life to fertile valles and beautiful lakes and reivers that you see today.

The fast flowing rivers are enjoyed by fishermen and rafting enthusiast, famous of which are Petrohue and Futaleufu, which is one of the top rivers for rafting in the world!

The German settlers established here from 1850 so much of the architecture  and ambience reflects the region´s past and the prominence of this settlers in particular.
